Emily Ellis

Director of Communications

Meet Emily, a passionate and accomplished communicator and leader from Georgetown, Texas. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Sport Management from Trinity University. Growing up, sports were always an integral part of Emily’s life. She has a deep passion for athletics—whether playing, watching her older sister compete, or following professional teams.

Emily officially joined The Basketball Embassy team in April 2023, following her graduation from Trinity in December 2022. She is primarily responsible for day-to-day operations related to local programming in San Antonio, as well as grant writing and managing both internal and external communications.

While at Trinity, Emily was a valuable member of the women’s volleyball team. During her five seasons, she played in three Elite Eights, two Final Fours, and even competed for a national championship. She is recognized as a two-time All-American and earned additional honors, including All-Region recognition and National Player of the Week awards.

Emily has also had the opportunity to engage in several sports diplomacy exchanges. Alongside her work through TBE, she also assumed the role of Program Coordinator for Trinity University, overseeing a group of volleyball coaches from North Macedonia and participating in the outbound leg in Macedonia shortly after.

These experiences have facilitated profound cultural exchanges through leadership workshops and program development initiatives and continue to directly impact the work she does through The Basketball Embassy both locally and internationally.
