youth ambassador program coach INTERN

The Basketball Embassy (TBE) is seeking passionate and reliable college students to serve as Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) Coaches. YAP is TBE's longest-running program and uses basketball as a platform to build confidence, character, leadership, and community among youth experiencing homelessness or living in underserved communities.

YAP Coaches work directly with youth at community organizations, shelters, schools, and other partner sites throughout the San Antonio area. This is a hands-on opportunity for students who enjoy working with young people, playing or coaching basketball, and making a meaningful impact in their community.

Coaches may work 1-4 sessions per week, with sessions generally taking place during afternoons or evenings. Current programming includes sessions at locations such as Haven for Hope, SAMMinistries, and SA Youth, with occasional opportunities to get paid at the JCC.

Development & Community Engagement intern

The Basketball Embassy (TBE) is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated college student to join our team as a Development & Community Engagement Intern.

As a small and growing nonprofit, TBE is constantly looking for new ways to raise funds, build relationships, and increase awareness of our programs. This position will work closely with TBE leadership on fundraising, event planning, community outreach, partnerships, and program awareness.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a student who enjoys bringing ideas to life, connecting with people, planning events, and finding creative ways to engage a community.

Communications/social media INTERN (trinity university students only)

The Basketball Embassy's local community programs, youth initiatives, events, and international work create a wide range of opportunities for storytelling and content creation. We're looking for an energetic, creative, and motivated student who can help tell TBE's story across social media and other communications channels.

This position is ideal for students studying communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, media, advertising, digital media, or content creation or anyone who simply loves creating great content.

This is a Community Federal Work Study (CFWS) position. CFWS is a government-funded program that allows students to gain real world experience working at community-based organizations, while getting paid through the university’s Financial Aid Office, up to your maximum award amount. You must be eligible for work study to apply for this role. Your Trinity supervisor will be Cleighton Schedule (cschedul@trinity.edu); you may email him with any questions.
