Parker Hines

Portland Trailblazers Assistant Coach

Minneapolis, Minnesota Native has transformed a life of playing basketball into using his first love to impact as many lives as possible. Hines has coached at all levels and currently serves as an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers.

After being diagnosed with Crohn's disease in his teens. Hines committed his life to serve those who also suffer in silence but also to those who lack the opportunity and knowledge to pull themselves out of tough times. He serves as a volunteer for CCFA (Crohn’s and colitis foundation of America) young professional group mentoring youth and young adults with Crohn’s.

His experiences serving others followed him to his first NBA opportunity working on Coach Gregg Popovich’s staff with the San Antonio Spurs where he connected with Chris Dial, founder of The Basketball Embassy, and immediately sought opportunities to pair their passions for basketball with altruism to better serve their communities as well as globally.

Hines has served as a volunteer domestically and internationally with The Basketball Embassy since 2017, helping run camps, and clinics and speaking globally.  Hines shares the passion for using basketball as the connective language that can be understood worldwide.
